Elmer Avenue Elementary School
Elmer School Collects More Than $800
during Pennies for Patients Efforts
The
students and staff of Elmer Avenue Elementary School raised more
than $800 to help the fight against cancer through their
Pennies for Patients campaign
held recently.
Pennies for
Patients is a fund-raising program in which students collect
coins to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Prizes were
awarded to the classes that collected the most money.
Michael Sheridan's 6th grade class collected $86.41 which was
good enough for first place and a class pizza party.
Second place was awarded to Janice Monaghan's 3rd graders
who collected $81.17. The class will enjoy an ice cream
party.
Over the last
five years, Elmer Avenue has raised $4,393 in the fight against
cancer.
