Elmer School Collects More Than $800
during  Pennies for Patients Efforts

The students and staff of Elmer Avenue Elementary School raised more than $800 to help the fight against cancer through their Pennies for Patients campaign held recently.

Pennies for Patients is a  fund-raising program in which students collect coins to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Prizes were awarded to the classes that collected the most money.  Michael Sheridan's 6th grade class collected $86.41 which was good enough for first place and a class pizza party.  Second place was awarded to  Janice Monaghan's 3rd graders who collected $81.17.  The class will enjoy an ice cream party.

Over the last five years, Elmer Avenue has raised $4,393 in the fight against cancer.
