Central Park 4th graders make a
difference
The
4th graders in Melissa Montague's class at Central Park
International Magnet School worked together to make a difference
in the community and for those in need. The students
collected almost 300 hygiene products and then donated them to
the
Bethesda House in Schenectady.
The students made about 40
hygiene kits for the many guests who are at the Bethesda
House and for many reasons - like an afternoon meal, use
of the emergency food pantry, free showers, lockers, laundry
room, telephones, mail boxes or the free clothing program.
Des Rossi, program director
at the Bethesda House, thanked the students and said the guests
of the house will be especially
grateful.
"Building a just and
compassionate community one person at a time," is the mission of
the Bethesda House. It is exactly what the fourth graders
strived to do with their community service efforts.
