Dear Faculty and Staff,

During this month of Thanksgiving and as the holiday season begins, I extend my sincere appreciation to all of you for the fine work that you do each and every day on behalf of the Schenectady City School District. Life is at times hectic for our school community (including our parents), which is why it is especially important to take a few moments to reflect on the many good things in our lives, an even more poignant practice at Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let me thank all of you for the kind words, best wishes and generosity so many of you have shown since the start of the school year. I feel so fortunate to be a part of a district with such a caring and devoted faculty and staff.

On Thanksgiving Day as you take a moment to reflect on the many things for which you are thankful, please remember to be thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn. Be thankful for the support of parents who work hard with their children to help us create an outstanding learning environment within our schools. Be thankful for your colleagues (teachers, support staff and administrators) who really care about student achievement and have the best interest of our students at heart.

I am especially thankful for all who work tirelessly and contribute their time and talents to enrich our schools. On behalf of the Schenectady City School District and Board of Education, I would like to wish you all a happy and relaxing Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Sincerely,

Maxine Brisport
School Board President
