Section II officials have selected Schenectady High
School's new synthetic field as the location for the Class B
football finals on November 7 at 1 p.m.
This game will be
the first time the new field serves as a hosting ground for a
large community event that does not involve Schenectady High
sports (SHS is Class AA). The center, sporting a turf field and resurfaced track,
was completed just over a month ago and has been used only for
Schenectady High School team practices and sporting events.
School District
officials are excited to host the finals and show off the new
Larry Mulvaney Field. Steve Boynton, athletic director for
Schenectady said that Section II officials approached him about
the opportunity to host the big game. Boynton said they
selected Schenectady because of the size of the facility, the
new turf field and the central location.
