  • Ran track at Mont Pleasant HS from 1981-1984
     

  • Started setting Section II track records as a sophomore
     

  • Set a total of seven Sectional records:

           200 meters:                 25.1             (1982)

          400 meters:                 56.1             (1982) - 2nd best in NYS

          100 meter hurdles:        14.2             (1983)

          400 meter hurdles:        60.46            (1983)

          800 meters:                 2:10.07         (1984)

          600 meters (indoors):    1:33.7           (1984)

          55 meter hurdles (indoors)  8.3            (1984)

  •  Still holds the 600m indoor record.  Her 400mh record was broken in 2010.  As of 2011 she ranks in the top five in six events and in the top ten in eight events (Section II - indoor/outdoor)
     

  • As a junior she was ranked third in the nation in the 600 meters
     

  • NYS Indoor 600 meters champion in 1983 & 1984
     

  • NYS Indoor 55 meter hurdles champion in 1984 
     

  • NYS Outdoor 400 meter hurdles champion in 1984; finished second in the 100 meter hurdles   
     

  • Ran a 43.23 in the 300 meter hurdles (Hartford, CT) - ranked second in the nation (1983)
     

  • Finished third (at Lincoln, Nebraska) in the 400 meter hurdles at The Athletic Conference Nationals in 1982.  Also finished third in this event in 1983 (at Duke) and fourth in 1984 (at LSU).
     

  • Honorable mention national high school track All-American in 1984
     

  • Won the Empire State Award
     

  • Won a gold medal in the heptathlon at the 1986 Empire State Games (also won a track & field gold medal as a scholastic athlete in 1983)
     

  • Attended Purdue, but left after getting injured; transferred to LSU
     

  • Won the Southeastern Conference indoor pentathlon (1988).  Her LSU indoor track team won the SEC championship that year.
     

  • Later in 1988 she won the heptathlon at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
     

  • Also placed second in the 400 meter hurdles (LSU won the team title)
     

  • Qualified for the 1988 NCAA Div. I Championship Meet in Eugene, Oregon - finished sixth in the heptathlon to help LSU win the NCAA team championship
     

  • Qualified for the 1988 Olympic Trials in Indianapolis (400 meter hurdles - 58.9)
     

  • Qualified for the 1989 NCAA Div. I Indoor Championships in Indianapolis as a senior, running a leg of the 4 x 800 meter relay in 2:08 (LSU finished sixth in this event).  LSU won the overall NCAA team championship.
     

  • As a senior she placed second in the pentathlon (SEC Indoor Championships) and third in the heptathlon (SEC Outdoor Championships)
     

  • A member of the 1989 LSU track team that again won the Southeastern Conference title and the National Championship
     

  • Finished collegiate career at LSU with four SEC team championships (two
    indoor & two outdoor) & three NCAA team championships (one indoor & two outdoor)
     

  • Won All-American honors in 1988 & 1989
     

  • Worked as a volunteer track coach at Schenectady HS
