Bill
Arsenault named speaker at
2010 SCSD
Athletic Hall of Fame and
Reunion Dinner
Bill Arsenault, a local
sportswriter with the Union
Star, Knickerbocker News and
Times Union from 1959 to
2001, will be the featured
speaker at the 13th annual
Schenectady City School
District Athletic Hall of
Fame and Reunion Dinner.
Arsenault is a graduate of
Mont Pleasant High School.
While at Mont Pleasant he
played football for George
Van Husen and Larry Mulvaney.
He currently writes college
sports columns for five
newspapers.
The Athletic Hall of Fame
and Reunion dinner will be
held on Monday, September
13, 2010 at Proctor’s
Theatre.
The 2010 inductees will be
Ray
Trail (Mont Pleasant
HS), a two-time national
champion cross-country
runner, and
Warren Crow (Linton HS),
a two time national champion
collegiate wrestler. The
celebration will also
include a special “Legacy
Tribute” honoring three
undefeated teams on the 50th
anniversary of their
outstanding seasons. These
teams are the 1959-60 Linton
High School basketball team
(with All-American Barry
Kramer), the 1960 Linton
High School golf team (New
York State champions) and
the 1960 Mont Pleasant
baseball team (with future
Baltimore Oriole Ed
Barnowski).
Tickets for the dinner cost
$45 and can be purchased in
the Athletic Department
office at Schenectady High
School or by calling Bob
