Athletic Hall of Fame and Reunion Dinner

Bill Arsenault, a local sportswriter with the Union Star, Knickerbocker News and Times Union from 1959 to 2001, will be the featured speaker at the 13th annual Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Fame and Reunion Dinner.  Arsenault is a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.  While at Mont Pleasant he played football for George Van Husen and Larry Mulvaney.  He currently writes college sports columns for five newspapers.

The Athletic Hall of Fame and Reunion dinner will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Proctor’s Theatre.

The 2010 inductees will be Ray Trail (Mont Pleasant HS), a two-time national champion cross-country runner, and Warren Crow (Linton HS), a two time national champion collegiate wrestler.  The celebration will also include a special “Legacy Tribute” honoring three undefeated teams on the 50th anniversary of their outstanding seasons.  These teams are the 1959-60 Linton High School basketball team (with All-American Barry Kramer), the 1960 Linton High School golf team (New York State champions) and the 1960 Mont Pleasant baseball team (with future Baltimore Oriole Ed Barnowski).

Tickets for the dinner cost $45 and can be purchased in the Athletic Department office at Schenectady High School or by calling Bob Pezzano at 346-9297.
