PV Holds
Literacy Night
Eighty-five parents and students in grades K-2 spent the
evening of January 21 at the Academy of Culture & Communication
at Pleasant Valley's Literacy Night - in their pajamas.
The students
were treated to a story read by Kayla Wallman from the Mont
Pleasant branch library. Meanwhile, parents participated
in a literacy workshop that was led by reading teacher Teresa
McNeany. The workshop focused on teaching parents about
the literacy strategies their children are learning in school
and ways that they can practice these at home.
 They
even received tote bags filled with activities to do at home.
Everyone was
treated to dinner and had opportunities to win the raffled
prizes.
The event was
sponsored by the Academy of Culture & Communication Parent
Partnership Team.
